About the Workshop:
- Theory: Introduction FEA, Virtual work and Energy based FEM, Shape functions and boundary conditions, Evaluation of stiffness matrix for Axial, Truss, Beam and Frame elements.
- Practical’s: Axial, 2D Truss, 3D truss, Beams with or without cuts, spring elements for both static and thermal loading.
- Theory: Plan stress, plane strain, axisymmetric elements. Material isotropy, Orthotropic, Anisotropy, In plane elements: CST, Quad4, Isoparametric elements.
- Practical’s: Plane and Spatial trusses elements along with the structure
- Beam elements with problems on beam problems along with various boundary conditions.
- In plane elements triangular and quadrilateral elements, plane elasticity: plane stress, strain and Axisymmetric solids.
- Materials modulus isotropic and orthotropic shell elements: General shell, layered shells with various curved shell analysis.
- Theory: Higher order elements, super elements, lagrangian and serendipity elements, Natural coordinates, Numerical integration, Gaussian quadrants, 3D solids: Tetrahedron and brick elements problems on 3D structures, layered solids free and mapped mesh with Mesh convergence.
- Practical’s: Free and Mapped mesh, Shell mesh, 3D mesh with tets and bricks. Analysis of 3D structures, Stress concentrations, Layered analysis, Plates and shell analysis.
- Theory: Model analysis: Lumped, Consistent mass, Normalized modes. Eigen values and Eigen vectors. Harmonic analysis, Transient dynamics, Axial, Beam and 2D analysis
- Practical’s: model analysis using subspace, Lanczo’s reduced and damping with lumped and consistent mass
- Harmonic Analysis: Frequency response of Beams, 2D, 3D and shell structures.
- Transient Dynamics: Time response of structures with load steps
- Buckling Analysis: Critical loads and buckling factors.
- Theory: Thermal: steady state and transient heat transfer, Fracture Mechanics: SERR, SIF.
- Fracture Mechanics: Crack tip elements, evaluation of SIF’s.
- Heat transfer: Study state and transient conduction and convection models.
- Practical’s: Problems on fins, walls and typical chimneys, solidification studies. Thermal by structural coupling contact analysis.
